Lesson Information

What is covered?

I alternate between composition and language use sections. I prioritise going through the paper in detail and move on to the next paper only after the current one is complete.

I may also slot in oral practice and other miscellaneous activities, such as presentations on certain topics, to train their skillsets for other sections such as oral and listening comprehension.

Where are classes held?

Sessions can be held either at my residence (239 Bishan St 22, Singapore 570239), or your own residence.

I usually operate out of the Bishan/Ang Mo Kio/Yishun area.

Do you do group Classes?

I am open to this. I set a maximum of four (4). The cap may be adjusted depending on the abilities and dynamics of the class.

How do I sign up?

Contact me to get started! I will mostly likely request for you/your child to provide me a sample of your/their most recent piece of work. This is purely for me to gauge what I can do to assist you.

Do you do trial/online lessons?

This can be done. Do contact me for information.

Please note that added fees may apply if significant travel distance is required for the trial lesson.

I or my child will not be able to attend a class.

No worries, you will only pay for lessons attended. However, please try to inform me at least 3 hours in advance and avoid repeated absences for non-sickness reasons.

Replacement classes are subject to availability, but I will assist with any catching up on their next session if scheduling a replacement session is not possible.

Please note that I may release your space in the event of prolonged or repeated absences without prior notice.

Is there homework?

Homework, if any, will usually consist of sections that were not completed in class or compositions. Please try to complete any homework to the best of your ability. However, if you are simply overwhelmed, prioritise your schoolwork.

DO NOT USE AI TOOLS OR ANY EXTERNAL ASSISTANCE TO COMPLETE YOUR HOMEWORK.

Artificial Intelligence policy

Organic thought is a key tenet of learning a language. As such, I have a strict no-AI policy for classes and strongly discourage any AI usage whatsoever in work done. All of my worksheets and notes are made without the use of AI.

However, with the increasing adoption of AI all around us (a very unfortunate state of affairs), you may encounter partially/fully AI-generated text such as comprehension passages. I will strive to maintain variety and diversity in the texts used.

Fee Information

My usual rates for 1 to 1 classes are:

$40 – 50 per hour for primary school;

$50 – 70 per session for secondary school.

Any additional charges, such as for added materials, are charged separately.
Each session is 1 hour 30 minutes. Extra cost may be added if travelling significant distances is required on my end.

Lesson Termination

Please provide a notice period of at least two (2) weeks.
